Linda Lingle served as Governor of the State of Hawaii from 2002-2010. She was the first woman, first person of Jewish ancestry and first Republican in 40 years to lead the Aloha State.
During her eight years as the state's chief executive, Governor Lingle and her Administration showed they could lead in the most difficult of times, including the aftermath of a major earthquake that struck the Island of Hawaii in 2006 and the 2008 global economic collapse that hit tourism-dependent Hawaii especially hard.
