Maggie’s List Proudly Endorses

Catherine Templeton for Governor of South Carolina:

Union-Busting Labor Attorney and

Former SC Cabinet Member

Maggie’s
List, a federal political action committee dedicated to electing conservative
women to office, is proud to announce the endorsement of Catherine Templeton
for Governor of South Carolina. Catherine, who has spent virtually her entire
career in the private sector, is the former Director of both the SC Department
of Labor and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control under
Former-Governor Nikki Haley.

Catherine is a
conservative outsider and a fighter, with a track record of cutting wasteful government
spending and putting taxpayer dollars to work without waste. Catherine has stood
up to state-level corruption, the Obama Administration, and national labor
unions to defend taxpayer dollars and American paychecks. As Governor of South
Carolina, she will continue to fight for those principles.

“Catherine
Templeton is a proven leader who will bring so much to the governor’s office of
South Carolina. Her relentless work ethic, along with her fiscal conservatism
and advocacy for South Carolina families, make her the right individual to lead
the Palmetto State. We know she is the right candidate for South Carolina
because she understands the need for less government and more fiscal
conservatism,” states Sandra B. Mortham, Chairman of Maggie’s List and former
Florida Secretary of State.

Catherine is a successful attorney, mother,
wife and businesswoman, whose efforts fighting national labor unions in the
private sector earned her an appointment to be Secretary of Labor under former
Governor, now Ambassador, Nikki Haley. And when the Obama
Administration was undermining South Carolina’s effort to bring in Boeing,
Catherine was on the front lines fighting to keep jobs in South Carolina as a
Right to Work state.

After Boeing set up shop and employed
thousands of people in South Carolina, Catherine was asked to serve as
the Director of the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control
where she continued to help deregulate and reform one of the state’s largest
and most bloated state agencies.

Throughout her career, she has proven herself
to be dedicated to South Carolina.

As governor, Catherine’s focus will be on
cutting wasteful government spending, lowering taxes for South Carolinians, gearing
public education toward better workforce development, and making South Carolina
#1 for new jobs in the southeast.

She is the perfect balance of a private
citizen who brings decades of business success to serve the citizens of South
Carolina over the course of four years. This is the model of leadership that
this nation sorely needs as we work to payoff trillions in debt created by
career politicians.

“South Carolina is
one of the most conservative states in our nation, and we can’t afford another
career politician who says they will cut spending and waste, but never does,”
said Catherine Templeton. “After spending years going toe-to-toe with union
bosses, ignoring the criticism as I cleaned up two state agencies, and
releasing corrupt state government contracts that were wasting taxpayer dollars
— I’m not afraid to take on the good ol’ boys.”

“I am honored that
Maggie’s List, a group dedicated to supporting fiscally conservative
leadership, has chosen to endorse me in this very important race for South
Carolina’s future.”

“For me, being a
conservative means putting the taxpayers first — not going along with the
status quo and cutting squishy deals for your political cronies. As Governor, I
plan to fight for South Carolina paychecks every day and shake things up in
Columbia.”

“Catherine Templeton upholds the values and leadership
that Maggie’s List looks for in effective and principled leaders. As a fiscal
conservative, Catherine will keep taxes low so that South Carolina families and
businesses can thrive,” states Sandra B. Mortham.

Women currently hold only six
governor’s seats. Currently four of the six women serving as governors are
fiscal conservatives. Throughout history, only 39 women have ever served as
governor in 28 states. This abysmal number is something that Maggie’s List works
to correct to by electing fiscally conservative women to the U.S. House, Senate
and now governor’s offices.
